Background

Today most products and goods are moved and stored with the help of loading aids and forklift trucks. At that the univocal identification of objects and places is done manually or with barcode scanning. This is time-consuming and error-prone. The identPLUS system completely automates all identifying processes and thus makes tracking of goods, loading aid devices and trucks possible without any manual interference.

On the basis of the identPLUS system in combination with e.g. a WMS, for the first time, a consistent solution for a forklift guidance system based on transportation orders plus automated verification of the correct order execution becomes available.

The driver receives an order to move a certain product. Via the vehicle mounted terminal (VMT) he is guided to the actual product’s position. The identPLUS system automatically monitors if the correct position is reached. Only then the driver receives the order to pick up the pallet. Again the system checks if the correct pallet is taken and indicates any mistake on the VMT respectively. The driver moves to the new position allocated by the WMS. The new position is also monitored by identPLUS. The unloading at the correct position is autonomously detected and entered into the WMS to enable a new transportation order.

By this a correct digital reflection of the real live warehouse situation is created. No more discrepancies between the books and the actual situation.
